Amanda's Cantina and Fonda: A Flavorful Journey of Mexican Cuisine in Colorado Springs

This is always a good spot to go to. I always get the molcajete and Frozen strawberry margarita with salt on the rim. The molcajete is pretty decent compared to others that I've had around town. I've noticed that this place, the meat tends to be just slightly overcooked. The frozen strawberry Margarita, in my opinion is one of the best in town and packs a nice little punch.

The outdoor dining space is amazing and the service is good. Inside the decor is drab and dated. The chef heavy-handed with the salt especially with the beans and the salsa. I ordered chili rellenos and I got something that resembled more of a chili chimichunga . It was a pepper stuffed with cheese, wrapped in a tortilla and deep fried. It was tasty but not the fluffy egg batter I was wanting with an authentic chili rellenos. One friend enjoyed her margarita and her food, the chipotle pulled pork. I tried my other friend's fajitas and there was a very strong vinegar taste on the meat and vegetables (covering up something?)

Great service and good food. prices are moderate I got the combo steak and shrimp fajitas. The meat and shrimp were very delicious with onions and peppers The corn tortillas were thin but sufficient. Chips and salsa are delicious, there are better prices for some other dishes like the chicken salad Taco bowl or dirty burritos but I like to eat clean if it's not Sunday. Was busier when we got there about 6:45 but thinned out around 7:45.

Ok..so let me start by saying if you are in the Manitou Springs area and you love Mexican food then you HAVE to stop here! The service was good, staff was polite and the food and drink were terrific!!! We have nothing bad to say about our experience here!!!

Hard to beat this restaurant when it comes to atmosphere, assuming you sit outside. There is a little creek that runs along the restaurant and adds a nice background noise that helps blend in the other chatter from the restaurant. The outdoor seating is also well covered so you won't be in direct sunlight, and we happened to have a nice cool breeze as well. The food was decent, but there are other Mexican places I have enjoyed better, but my wife really enjoyed hers.

First time here and I would come back again even though we don't live close. It would be fun to make a day of it and finish with this beautiful restaurant. We sat outside along the creek and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Plenty of food and wonderful wait staff. Very friendly and it was a great experience.

Great Mexican food after a trip to Pikes Peak! Service was great, pricing was fair and food was excellent. Red enchilada sauce was fantastic and the chicken tostada was something I should have ordered 2 of.
